I have been using this plugin for many years, but on a recent upgrade, it started breaking functionality including uploading images and my other plugin subscribe2. Deactivating this plugin let subscribe2 start working again, and also allowed me to upload images.
I would conclude that it is no longer maintained, as others have done.

This plugin appears to have been abandoned. The site is listed by Google search as being hacked. The support site doesn't work. And the plugin will not work on sites that are secure, it gives a mixed-content error.
