External Services

This plugin connects to the following external services:

  1. License Verification
    – License keys are validated via an API call to the developer’s server.
    – The following endpoints are used:
    – https://test-im-netz.de/license-check.php (Standard)
    – https://test-im-netz.de/license-pro-check.php (Pro)
    – A daily cron job (boxyfy_daily_license_check) checks the license status.
    – The API request includes the license key, your site’s home URL (domain), and a local identifier.
    – The transmitted domain is used solely to monitor the number of activated domains per license.
    – No personal data is stored. These endpoints are used exclusively for Boxyfy license validation.

  2. Amazon Product Advertising API
    – The plugin fetches product data using Amazon’s PA-API (Product Advertising API).
    – It retrieves data based on the ASIN you enter:
    – Price
    – Title
    – Image
    – Sales Rank
    – Product features
    – API calls occur:
    – When you manually retrieve product info in the backend
    – When automatic updates are scheduled via boxyfy_cron_update_amazon_prices
    – When frontend Amazon shortcodes are displayed
    – Update intervals can be set to 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours.

These API requests are dynamically constructed in the plugin code based on the selected Amazon marketplace region, which the site owner defines in the plugin settings. The following remote URLs may be contacted:

All API calls are authenticated and require valid Amazon credentials entered by the site owner. API calls are triggered either manually by the site owner, automatically via scheduled updates, or dynamically when Amazon shortcodes are displayed to site visitors. No data is sent to Amazon unless required to fetch live product information.

Note: These connections are necessary for license checks and real-time Amazon data retrieval.

  1. Perplexity API via Proxy Server
    – The plugin connects to https://test-im-netz.de/perplexity-proxy.php to retrieve AI chat responses.
    – When the AI chatbox is used, a POST request containing the product name and user query is securely forwarded to the Perplexity API.
    – No user-identifiable information is stored or logged.
    – This connection is optional and only initiated if the AI Chatbox feature is activated in the plugin settings.

How do I add new product pages?

  1. Navigate to Boxyfy > Add New Product
  2. Add a title and assign a category
  3. Fill in product data via metaboxes:
    – Retrieve Amazon product info via ASIN
    – Set rankings, ratings, labels, and features

Why is my product page not displaying correctly?

Go to WordPress > Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes. This flushes the rewrite rules and resolves most issues with product page URLs.

How can I create product boxes for added products?

Boxyfy automatically generates product shortcodes under:
– Boxyfy > Product Box Shortcodes
– Boxyfy > Settings > Shortcodes

You can use them for:
– Individual product boxes
– Comparison tables by category

How can I create Amazon product boxes?

Amazon product boxes are created via shortcodes. These are available in Boxyfy > Settings > Shortcodes.

Why don’t the filters or sorting work in product comparisons?

At the moment, comparison shortcodes can only be used once per page. Support for multiple instances will be added in an upcoming update.
