- Gosign - Masonry Post Block
Looks nice and great that lazy loading can be enabled. You can also let the visitor 'filter' on categories. Would be nice if it would support custom post types and pagination. Pagination too even with lazy loading. For example if you would like to use the block to show all posts the number of requests/page size is rather large. I give it a lower 3 stars rating because it it generates a lot of PHP notices. Site is on WP 5.9 and PHP 7.4. Support doesn't seem to be available here. A pity because it is an interesting plugin, but without support I'm using something else.
This plugin has an option for category navigation (isotope jquery filter?). The masonry option includes other layouts if you don't want the masonry option. It also has many great features such as show/hide all the parts of the post you might need. excerpt, date, responsive settings and more. It also has the option to show the title on top of the featured image or below, tremendously helpful. I love this plugin! Thank you!
I completely agree with @blucable's review below. All I needed was a plugin that posted my posts in a masonry layout. I couldn't figure out where the short code was to post it. I really hate giving a 1 star review. I'm quoting blucable so I don't have to retype: "January 30, 2020 The reason I am giving this plugin 1 star is because I was able to install it. Beyond installing it, there is no way to use this plugin as far as the instructions are concerned. The only instructions that best matches the next step after installation is this here: Add the Gosign – Masonry Post Block to the post or page where you want to show the masonry. Ok so how do I do this? Don't get me wrong but programmers these days need to learn how to describe an installation process and usage process to regular people that depend on these instructions. "Add the Gosign post block to the post" is not enough information to get this working. I am willing to update my review once instructions are clearer."
Would be great if it comes with more options.
Disappointed that this plugin has no Settings for Category menu at the top of the page, or options that allow viewing the masonry post block before publishing.
I compared a lot of posts grid plugin. Gosign is the only one I found with a navigation menu to select posts from a specific category. And for the rest, it does the job with for instance a nice masonry display. If in the future you could develop some features such as support custom post types and navigate through posts using tags, it would be wonderful ! Just a small point: on my dev site, there are some php notices regarding "Undefined index". It's easy to fix with isset() 🙂
