I would not recommend switching from PayPal Checkout to PayPal Payments, even though they claim backward compatibility since version 1.5. That is a lie in my case. I installed this in place of PayPal Checkout on October 7th 2021 and ALL of my PayPal subscriptions broke and are now manual renewals. 125 PayPal subscriptions totaling in excess of $50,000 of monthly recurring revenue, gone because of this plugin's FALSE claims!! Absolutely awful. Full of errors. This plugin has lost me many customers who try to pay and get errors. Gone back to using the old one which works perfectly

Hey, WooCommerce and Automattic, all these 1-star reviews are real. Are you going to continue to ignore them, or improve this plugin? I agree with the 1-star reviews. This is a terrible plugin. It's difficult to set up. It should not ask all those questions about the business. The answers to those questions should already be in the PayPal account. Asking these questions makes it impossible for a website developer to activate this plugin. Only the business and PayPal account owner can answer those questions. Why did you develop a plugin that is impossible for a website developer to enable? The plugin should only authenticate the PayPal account. That's it. Not ask a bunch of additional questions. And don't tell us you need to ask those questions. Figure out a way to not ask those business questions. Payments often fail, and it is very difficult to figure out why. Please understand that this is a connection between WooCommerce and PayPal. Two giants in the ecommerce space. These payments are mission critical for store owners. They are relying on you and you are failing them.

We have several client sites using Woo and the older / original PayPal payment method with no issues whatsoever - trying to get a new site up and running with this new version (as the old version is no longer available sadly) and it just doesn't work. GO BACK PLEASE!! If it aint broke don't fix it.!!

This plugin doesn't work as expected, I won't use ist anymore. The former Paypal plugin worked just fine. Why don't you just use the former Paypal Checkout as a basis for the new Paypal plugin?
