The Praized Community plugin allows you to deploys a complete local search\nsection including 17M+ North American place listings, social tools and search\nfunctionalities through your WordPress blog (see screenshots).<\/p>\n\n

This plugin is designed for use with the latest version of WordPress, but will\nwork with versions 2.2 and newer. Our plugins also support WordPress MU 1.3+.<\/p>\n\n

Template Development<\/h3>\n\n

Definitions:\n* template: Wordpress template skeleton that calls the WP headers, sidebars,\n etc, as well as the targeted Praized functionality (see fragment).\n* fragment: We have separated our display logic into reusable mini-templates\n so that you can modify the templates without worrying about our functionality,\n or even embed the said fragments in your non-Praized WP templates with ease.\n Note that by convention, fragment filenames start with an underscore.<\/p>\n\n

We have put a lot of efforts into making sure that the default templates\ndelivered with the Praized Community plugin (\/wp-content\/plugins\/praized-community\/includes\/php\/templates\/)\nworks well with most WordPress themes out of the box.<\/p>\n\n

For a custom look, the easiest way to customize the interface of the Praized\nCommunity plugin output is to simply overwrite all or part of our bundled CSS\nwith your own, within your theme's stylesheet, by targetting our XHTML through\nthe namespaced id\/classes parameters (id\/class=\"praized-...\").<\/p>\n\n

But to allow development that extends far beyond what CSS allows for, theme\ndesigners can also fully customize the look and feel of their Praized local\nsearch functionality by creating their own templates or template fragments,\nusing our global template functions, or by even using the latter functions\nand template fragments within their standard WordPress theme templates.<\/p>\n\n

Before loading any of the Praized Community templates, we check if a replacement\ntemplate or template fragment exists within the currently activated theme's\ndirectory. If one exists, we will use your template instead of our default one.<\/p>\n\n

To create a custom replacement template or template fragment, simply create a\n\"praized-community\" directory within your current theme's directory\n(\/wp-content\/themes\/your_theme\/praized-community) and copy the default template\nor fragment you want to overwrite into it before applying your customizations.<\/p>\n\n

EG 1<\/strong>: Your theme uses a three-columns layout, as opposed to the two-columns,\nKubrick-based one we ship by default<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n

Simply copy the template files (those not starting by an underscore [_]<\/em>) found\nat the top level of \/wp-content\/plugins\/praized-community\/includes\/php\/templates\/\nto \/wp-content\/themes\/your_theme\/praized-community\/ and modify the interface\nskeletons as desired using the usual WP functions.<\/p>\n\n

Third Party Plugins Integration<\/h3>\n\n

WordPress plugins developer can also integrate with the Praized Community\nfunctionality by using the custom global template functions found in\n\/wp-content\/plugins\/praized-community\/includes\/php\/functions\/ or by interacting\nwith our php classes directly (PraizedCommunity, Praized, etc).<\/p>\n\n

Internationalization<\/h3>\n\n

The Praized Community plugin is completely translatable out of the box and comes\nwith English and French bundles by default..<\/p>\n\n

Upgrading From A Previous Version<\/h3>\n\n

To upgrade from a previous version of this plugin, delete the entire folder and\nfiles from the previous version of the plugin and then follow the installation\ninstructions below.<\/p>\n\n

Installing The Plugin<\/h3>\n\n

Extract all files from the ZIP file, making sure to keep the file structure intact,\nand then upload the plugin's folder to \/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n

This should result in something very similiar to the following file structure:<\/p>\n\n
