It works like charm. But need another plugin to edit the author slug. It would be best if there were author slug edit option.

!!! DO NOT USE THIS PLUGIN !!!
This plugin overwrites Wordpress core functionality and will not work with get_permalink() / get_the_permalink(), it does not update the wp_posts table, but rather creates a manipulation layer that will break these core functions.

Not sure what's going on with this plugin, but there is no way to add a permalink. So the plugin is useless.
