to many error on activation, in a basic wordpress clean installation:
on activation :
The plugin generated 1820 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

Just set
define('WP_DEBUG', true);
and see how many notices and errors plugin throw.

Sphinx search worked right out of the box, but because my website uses large amounts of memory, I had to ask for technical support from the authors. I was contacted and given assistance immediately!

This plugin needs another install after you install and it could not install.
look for a Search plugin that works – there are dozens……….
